Working together is the only way people and businesses will succeed. We are forever hearing this title “working together” in many areas such as; the NHS, “working together to safe guard children”, HM Revenue & Customs “Working Together partnership”. So, we need to come off the fence and understand that for us to succeed we must pool resources, ideas, work-load and innovations. By changing our awareness and be understanding to other people’s problems, we are then jointly working together to find solutions and drive out “Negativity” by acting pro-actively and working together for the future.
The principle of working together within the team will underpin how you operate in the team. Managing people doesn’t just mean acting as a boss/overseer but, as a leader to support the team helping them to get their work done satisfactorily. It means involving people throughout the team in a creative role, to ensure that together you are all able to succeed. Many of the tasks needing to be done sometime involve complex processes and require people working together in a co-ordinate way over time. This project may well be headed up by you or involves you in one way or the other, make sure that the project is, carefully and systematically planned and organised, effectively executed, precisely monitored and fine-tuned so that contingencies and changes are accommodated for. It will have a time date so, it will need to be brought in on time, on spec and if appropriate, on budget. Your management of others will be jeopardised if the way you organise the work of the section in any way falters.
When you’re working together It’s very important that members of the team or group be knowledgeable and skilful in their positions. The degree to which those members can work harmoniously and cooperatively together is very important and will gradually gel into a high-performance team. Effective team management plays a prominent role in building high performance teams. It should always be a question as to what management can do to actively promote successful work teams.
