In life we all face problems, whether it is getting up at the right time or looking at a long string of letters and numbers. It could be in the place we work or in the business we run. By applying “due care and attention” in solving the problem but more importantly, making decisions; whether the decision is the correct one or nor is immaterial. The important thing is; YOU MADE THE DECISION.
We all make decisions of varying importance every day, so the idea that decision making can be a rather sophisticated art may at first seem strange. However, studies have shown that most people are very poor at decision making, than they think. An understanding of what decision making involves, together with a few effective techniques, will help produce better decisions.
Good decision making skills are important to our successes in life. The prospect of taking on responsibility for our self-management may seem strange and frightening, especially if were unaccustomed to taking charge of our lives. Looking at assertiveness techniques and goals identification and goal-setting could help build our confidence in such matters. Once we have mastered such techniques we will be able to make sound decisions in matters that effect us, such as our job functions, perhaps the type of work when’re doing could be medical or rehabilitation treatment after being away from work for some time or other quality of life issues. The most important issue is; to make a decision by facing up to it.
Remember, in life “The choice is al ways yours”?
