5 Managing time

Everybody on the planet has the same amount of time, managing that time is an individual’s decision and personnel to them. So why is it that some people manage to accomplish more in one day than others can possibly do in a week? After all you do have total control of how much time you spend in producing what you want to do and how much time you want to waste. It could be some have more energy levels than others or, it must be that one person is able to manage their time more effectively than the other person.

This of course does not mean that one person works harder but rather, the person who accomplishes more in less time has worked out how to work smarter. Planning your days and prioritising your time is the answer. How can you learn to effectively manage your time in order to accomplish more? Look at the ideas below:

Idea 1 Set time limits for the simple activities. There are some people who linger over things or waste time; these people may have a lot of time on their hands that they need to fill. If you linger over things but you want to try to get more done in a smaller amount of time, then you are going to have to learn to practice self-control and start to set limits on your valuable time. You should do this by setting reasonable amount of time that the individual task at hand requires, don’t try and rush the job so you make mistakes, on the other hand try not to take too much time either. Try to allocate a time-frame for each and every task to be done.

Idea 2 Don’t try to do it all yourself. Don’t overload yourself by insisting on doing everything on your own. Your family or colleagues can make life a lot easier. This of course is by being prepared to share with them and this of course will help you to go on to do more important tasks, tasks that you need to do that nobody else can. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and things seem to be closing in on you, then by asking for help and support from family or work colleagues will start to remove tension and anxiety making you feel as though you are not as pressured.

Idea 3 You now need to look at prioritising and starting to say NO, (in a nice). When your finding more time in your busy life schedule you will find that you will get things done. Now by prioritising your task and jobs to be done and by having passed some out to your family or work colleagues you must decide what needs to be done first down to last in other words what’s important NOW and what can go down the list. Try not to get little things get in yor way if you can possibly help it.

You should now not let yourself feel obligated every time someone asks you to do something for them. This also should include charitable organisations, schools, church and this should include even someone in your family asking you to do something that you know you don’t have the time for.
